Artist statement
I am an Berlin based artist working in the field of drawing.
In my works I examine the boundaries between science and art as well as
the thin veil that separates reality and fiction. Historical concepts of utopia
and paradise, metaphysical questions about the origin of our existence and
the delimitation of the wilderness from culture are the main reasons for my work. In doing so, I question the task of drawing as a theoretical reflection by creating my own visual worlds. I explore the boundaries between science and art and the thin veil that separates reality and fiction. The viewer often takes the perspective of an observer or voyeur. At the same time, space is dissolved by shifting perspectives and a transition to the metaphysical takes place.
The known reality is no longer what it appears to be.
